iTunes 7 (update)

September 14, 2006 on 4:44 pm | In News | 21 Comments

It seems that iTLU (1) doesn't work with the latest version of iTunes. I'll look into it and publish an update if possible.

Update: I quickly tested iTLU with iTunes 7 and it seems to work for me. If you do have issues please mail me a detailed problem description.

As for iTLU2: I currently have exams again, so I cannot continue at the moment. Be patient or join as dev! :)

  7. Hi!

I haven’t tried the application itself yet (but I strongly believe that it works) and I think this is really great free app, but…

I’m really disappointed in installer – it downloads .Net 2.0 runtime without single warning!
This requires Internet connectivity, takes up considerable amount of time and network bandwidth, can not be canceled if started and requires reboot…

It did install .Net 2.0 framework on my computer without asking, and I did not have any intention (for some other reason) to have it there.
This is disappointing and I really hope that you can fix this in the next version – PLEASE, notify of your intention to access Internet, to download huge file and install it!

Also, good idea – provide plain executable files, without installer, for people, who know what they are doing.

    Thanks,
    D.G.

  10. iTunes installation package is not working. It comes up with an error message saying:

“There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A DLL required for this install to complete could not be run”

    What do I do?

Is there any required DLL I could find to solve this problem?

  13. The idea behind this program is really great, as library management for me is one of the biggest flaws in itunes, the other is the fact that i cant seem to find a way to make it simply use a file in an album folder called folder.jpg or front.jpg as an artwork, without adding it to the id3 tags or the itunes folder called /artwork… I mean, why?!? But thats a question best aimed at apple, not here, i appreciate the effort. What i didnt like about this particular program is the speed. I am sure that if i had erased my itunes library and done a complete rescan, it would have been much faster. I have around 10000 files, and it took really long to remove the missing ones, and add the new ones, probably because i couldnt make itunes showing this annoyng message that its determining gappless playback or something… And that takes a lot of time, has made my system crash twice, and i find it utterly useless, but there is no option to disable it. In the status window i could see a file being added or removed roughly every 2 seconds, and with thousands of files…

  15. i am new to i tunes. am i right in trying to install the library updater to keep my library updated everytime i add a file to the folder? Is this the same as ‘monitoring folders’ like windows media player?
i installed the program but nothing happened.

  18. Hey man I’m a frequent user of your little proggy, and recently it started bugging out on me. I have it set to run at midnight but for the past few nights it has crashed the computer when it runs. I don’t have much to give you but here’s the error sig that windows reported:

    EventType : clr20r3 P1 : itluconsole.exe P2 : 1.2.2.0 P3 : 441089b2
    P4 : system.windows.forms P5 : 2.0.0.0 P6 : 461ef203 P7 : 150c
    P8 : 12f P9 : system.invalidoperationexception

I don’t know if this is just my system (i wouldn’t be surprised cuz this is my first build) but I thought I would throw somethin’ your way just in case it could help.

Love the program tons man. Good job and thanks a ton!
